The episcopal ordination of the new Bishop of Raphoe, Monsignor Alan McGuckian takes place this afternoon.
The Bishop elect will be consecrated during mass at St Eunan’s Cathedral in Letterkenny at three o’clock.
The Chief ordaning Prelate will be Archbishop Eamon Martin, Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All-Ireland.
Monsignor McGuckian hails from Cloghmills in County Antrim and is the youngest of six children.
