Jack oSullivan.
On Wednesday last our Jack oSullivan team captained by Kevin McCarthy took on Tubbercurry golf club in the competition. Home advantage was the key in the tie with Castledargan winning their two matches at home but unfortunately Tubbercurry winning their home matches to win the tie 3-2. Well done to Kevin and his team of Brendan Deignan, James Fallon, Dave Donavan, Alan Taffee, jim McLoughlin, Mickey Flynn, Kevin McCarthy, Fergal McLoughlin, Tony Wasyalocha and Kevin Conlon.
Junior Golf. G
Good luck to our junior members Sean Carroll, Eoin McGrath, Darragh Connolly and Patrick Callaghan who play in the junior foursomes in Tuam this week and also Sean ,Darragh, Eoin and Patrick along with Sean Tailly play in the Connaght semifinal of the Fred Daly this coming Thursday. Good luck lads from all at the club.
Club competitions.
Ulster bank sponsored competitions were won by sean Carroll 40 Pts, second Alan Martin and third Andy Kearns. And on Sunday again sponsored by Ulster bank the winner was Alan Taffee with 38pt and second was Tristan Probst. Last weeks sponsors were Clifford electrical. Results in next weeks notes. Next weeks sponsors are on Thur/fri/sat by Gulf oil and its open stableford. On Saturday we have our Captains day hosted by club captain Ray oGrady and on the bank holiday Monday the sponsor is Tindal wines.
The club wish congratulations to club member Donal McLoughlin and his wife Rebecca on the recent birth of their baby son Cathal.
Winners of our British open golf challenge were 1st Breege McGoldrick and she wins the portable BBQ sponsored by Calor Gas. 2nd was won by Maureen Mullen and she wins a Heater also sponsored by Calor Gas and third was Adrian McGoldrick and he wins the golf bag donated by Paul McGonigle.
