Bus Eireann confirms Bunninadden pick-up to remain



There’s relief for parents in the Bunninadden and Killavil areas of south Sligo with confirmation today that the school bus route will be retained in its current format in the coming school year.

It follows a major campaign by the community there.

Changes to the catchment areas brought in in the 2012 budget mean that from September, children attending school in Tubbercurry would no longer be picked up in Bunninaden.

However, Fianna Fail TD Eamon Scanlon’s office has confirmed to Ocean FM News today that they have received a letter of confirmation from the Manager of School Transport at Bus Eireann.

It states that the route for the post-primary school from Bunninaden to Tubbercurry for the 2017/2018 school year will remain the same ‘pending a detailed route analysis’.
