West Sligo welcome for Syrian refugees visiting Beltra Country Market

There will be a special international dimension this weekend to an event taking place in west Sligo.

It will be at the Beltra Country Market where Syrian refugees now living in Ballaghadereen will be special guests.

Their visit is to enable them meet Irish people as well as improve their use of the English language.

Also present will be some of those living in the Globe House asylum seekers’ centre in Sligo.

One of the organisers of Beltra Country market, Naomi McBride, has been telling Ocean FM Radio how the Syrian’s visit came about.
