MacSharry calls for arrangement with speed company be examined by PAC



A Sligo/Leitrim TD is calling for the payments and contract of the company that operates speed vans on the country’s roads to be examined by the Public Accounts Committee.

It’s emerged that Go Safe is paid €1.2m a month as well as a €45,000 retainer fee each month.

There had been calls for this money to be used on providing resources for the gardai.

Fianna Fail Deputy Marc MacSharry, a member of the PAC, has written to the chairman asking that the item be put on its agenda for the autumn.
