Water supply to be returned to affected areas of Sligo Town by 4pm



Irish Water have told Ocean FM News that water supply is expected to be returned to a number of areas in the town by 4 o clock this afternoon.

Repair work is ongoing in Sligo Town in relation to a burst water pipe which is causing water supply disruptions to the areas of Cartron, Ballytivnan, Rathbraughan and Glendallan.

These areas have been interrupted on a number of occasions over the last number of years, with several disruptions affecting the area over recent days.

Irish Water have informed Ocean FM News that work on the damaged pipe is currently ongoing.

Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy says the constant interruption in the supply has become frustrating for those living and working in the area. He has called on Irish Water to fix the problem once and for all.
