Over half million euro for childcare services in the North West

Almost €540,000 has been announced today for childcare services in the north west.

More than €300,000 is to go to County Donegal, almost €130,000 to Leitrim and €108,000 to County Sligo.

The money will go toward providing new childcare places, maintenance and building work on child care centres well as outdoor play areas.

Almost €70,000 is to go to Sligo Family Support Limited, over €11,000 for Coolaney Community Playgroup, and, in Leitrim, over €18,000 for Drumshanbo Community Childcare.

Among those in Donegal to benefit is Saimer Community Childcare Group.

Donegal Minister Joe McHugh says the money will help provide more accessible and affordable quality childcare.

And Sligo/Leitrim Fine Gael TD says it’s important to recognise the work of those who work in childcare.
