Grain farmers reach agreement with Department on tillage crisis payments



Grain Farmers have come to an agreement with the Department of Agriculture on payments from the Tillage Crisis Fund.

Talks have been ongoing since a sit-in at the department last week.

Farmers were unhappy about the proposed payments per acre.

However, Peter Lynch, the Grain Committee Chair with the Irish Farmers Association in Donegal says that they reached a compromise this afternoon and the fund will be open for applications from early next week:
