Call for teachers to be retained at Kiltyclogher school



A Sligo Leitrim TD is calling for a commitment from the government to ensure that two teachers are retained at Kiltyclogher National School in county Leitrim in the coming school year.

Sinn Fein Deputy Martin Kenny raised the issue with the Minister for Education Richard Bruton in the Dail yesterday.

He says because the number of pupils will fall below the current threshold by just one child, the school is at risk of losing a teacher in September.

But he is urging Minister Bruton to keep the second teacher until the promised government review is carried out:
