Sligo/Leitrim Fine Gael TD Tony McLoughlin says he is determined to come good on his pre-election promise to the upgrade of Sligo Garda Station.
Deputy McLoughlin came in for criticism this week and was accused of letting the electorate down on in relation to the upgrade of the station.
Fianna Fail Councillor Tom MacSharry hit out at both Deputy McLoughlin and former Minister for Justice Frances Fitzgerald earlier this week over what he called ’empty promises’.
Councillor MacSharry recently described the station as ‘not fit for purpose’.
But Deputy McLoughlin insists the upgrade is still in the pipeline. He told Ocean FM News that he is continuously putting pressure on the the OPW and the current Minister for Justice to progress the project.
