Former Councillor Sean McManus says he has retired from ‘elected politics’ only



Retired Sinn Fein Councillor in Sligo Sean McManus says he’ll continue to work to ensure that the party maximises its vote in Sligo Leitrim in the next election.

Speaking to Ocean FM News prior to his retirement dinner in Sligo town over the weekend, Mr. McManus says he has retired from ‘elected politics’ only.

The former Councillor consistently increased his own vote when he ran in general elections in Sligo Leitrim between 1989 and 2007.

He says the aim will be to try and build on the success for Sinn Fein in last year’s election:
