Six Donegal seafood companies receive over €720,000 in grants



Six Donegal seafood companies have received more than €720,000 in grants.

Four companies received substantial funding under the Sustainable Aquaculture Scheme.

They are: Donegal Oysters Ltd of Rossylongan, Donegal Town, which got €244,352; Donegal Ocean Deep Oysters Ltd of Rossylongan, Donegal Town that got €323,821; Racoo Shellfish,Tullyearl, Donegal Town, €47,880, and Ostre’an Teoranta of Dungloe, €25,135.

In addition Jade Ireland Seafood Ltd which has bases in Donegal, Cork and Dublin is receiving €60,000 towards new markets development.

And Biomarine Ingredients Ireland (Killybegs) is getting €20,000 under the Seafood Innovation and Business Planning Scheme.

Donegal-based Minister Joe McHugh says the Donegal Oysters and Ocean Deep companies are investing a total of €1.4m, helped with more than €550,000 in this grant aid.
