Sligo to Goodison Park cycle is underway

A group of Everton supporters are currently making their way from Leitrim Village towards Dublin this morning in aid of a Liverpool based charity.

23 cyclists left the Sligo Showgrounds at 6.30 this morning to raise funds for the ‘Home Is Where The Heart Is’ campaign.

The campaign aims to raise approximately €68,000 as part of a total fundraising target of €260,000 which will go towards supporting young people in Liverpool.

In the last hour, the group stopped at St Joseph’s Community Centre in Leitrim Village for refreshments.

They are now on their way towards Dublin Port where they will take a ferry to Holyhead before mounting their bikes once more and cycling to Goodison Park.

Ocean FM’s Kevin Blessing joined them along the way and spoke to Scott McCloud from Everton Football Club. He told Kevin about the warm welcome the cyclists have recieved in both Sligo and Leitrim this morning.
