A number of schools across west and south Sligo have benefited from the latest round of CLAR funding.

A total of €275,000 has been allocated to several projects across the county under the Support for School/Community Safety Measure.

These include Scoil Muire Gan Smal in Curry, Tubbercurry Community Park, St Michael’s National School in Cloonacool, Cloonloo National School, Knockmina National School, Moylough National School and Michael McGowan Park in Enniscrone.

Speaking to Ocean Fm News, south Sligo Councillor Dara Mulvey welcomed the funding saying it was a much needed boost to projects in rural areas of County Sligo.
