Gardai in Ballyshannon are appealing for anyone who may have any information in relation to a break in at a shop in Pettigo in the early hours of this morning.
A number of individuals smashed a front window at the shop on Main Street in the town before forcing their way in.
The thieves removed a small amount of money and cigarettes before fleeing the scene. It is believed the owner of the shop was upstairs at the time of the incident.
Gardaí from Pettigo, Ballyshannon and Donegal Town attended the scene and have been conducting house to house inquiries today.
They are appealing for anybody who saw a dark vehicle acting suspiciously in the area between 3.30am and 4.45am to contact Ballyshannon Garda Station on 071 985 8530.
