New CAMHS appointments not enough, says protest group



Local parents campaigning for the improvement of mental health services for young people in the Sligo/Leitrim area say that the HSE’s decision to add two new full-time consultant psychiatrists is not enough.

A new full-time consultant psychiatrist for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in Sligo/Leitrim started their new post today.

While a second consultant has already been approved for the area by the HSE in the coming weeks.

But the North West branch of Our Voice says that although they welcome the development, they feel two consultants will not be enough to get through the back-log.
