TD says no motorway to North West is restricting region’s potential

The lack of a suitable motorway network from Dublin to the North West is restricting the region’s ability to attract jobs. That’s according to Sligo/Leitirm Fianna Fáil TD Eamon Scanlon.

Speaking in the Dáil recently, Deputy Scanlon blasted the Government, saying it has failed to create a balanced jobs policy by not investing in infrastructure and public services in the North West.

He said the lack of a suitable motorway from Mullingar to Sligo was the key factor behind the IDA’s reluctance to bring industry and jobs to the region.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Deputy Scanlon called on the Government to give a commitment on the upgrade of the N4 in order to improve the North West’s ability to attract investment.
