Fr Peter McVerry to be special guest at Sligo mayor’s ball



Father Peter McVerry will be the special guest speaker at this Sunday’s Mayor’s Charity Ball at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sligo.

Father McVerry is the head of a charity in his own name which aims to reduce homelessness and the harm caused by drug mis-use and social disadvantage.

The ball is held annually by the sitting mayor towards the end of their term and this year will benefit four local charities. These are MS Therapy Sligo, Sligo Rape Crisis Centre, North West Simon Community and Focus Ireland.

Tickets will be available at the door.
