Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim councils get money to fight litter, graffiti



Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim county councils are to get a total of more than €60,000 this year to deal with litter and graffiti.

Climate Action and Environment Minister Denis Naughten announced the allocations yesterday.

Donegal is to get €26,000, an increase of €6,000 on last year.

Sligo will get €19,000, an increase of €4,000 and Leitril will get €16,000, which is €3,500 up on last year.

The money is being provided under a scheme for public awareness and education campaigns for communities dealing with litter, dog fouling and graffiti.
