Knock Airport designated as a strategic development zone

The decision to designate Knock Airport as a strategic development zone will go a long way towards attracting both businesses and jobs to the North West.

That’s according to the Minister for Regional Economic Development, Michael Ring after the Taoiseach confirmed the Government has signed off on the move at a recent cabinet meeting.

A strategic development zone is a parcel of land which is proposed to contain developments of economic or social importance to the state.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Deputy Ring said he hoped to see both international and local companies setting up in the area following the decision.
