An official homecoming function to mark the return of North American board middleweight champion Jason Quigley to Donegal will be held this evening at the Finn Valley Centre in Stranorlar at 8pm.
The former Finn Valley ABC boxer, who is now based in Los Angeles, has won all 13 of his professional bouts since signing with Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions in 2014.
The 26-year-old claimed the NABF middleweight crown in March of this year, beating American Glen Tapia by unanimous decision in Califronia, despite suffering a torn tendon in his stronger right hand in the second round.
A host of current and former boxers will also be in attendance for tonight’s event, as will Irish athletics team manager, Patsy McGonagle, who is the chairman of the adjoining Finn Valley Athletic Club.
