Historical plaques to be unveiled around Sligo



Seven plaques outlining aspects of Sligo’s history will be unveiled at various locations around the town this Thursday afternoon.

It’s part of a project by Sligo Tidy Towns Heritage Team.

A total of 20 plaques will be erected by the end of this August and will form a historic trail around Sligo.

The plaques will outline the history of buildings they are on and, in some cases, the stories of people associated with them.
