Sligo University Hospital is hoping to be awarded a Green Flag towards more sustainable working practices.
The hospital signed up to the An Taisce programme last year in an effort to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
It recently carried out a number of intiatives as part of its major drive to achieve Green Flag status for the campus and staff also had a stand at the recent Green Campus Sustainability Awareness Day.
Domhnall McLoughlin, Assistant General Manager, says the day was a good opportunity to increase awareness among staff and visitors both at work and at home.
