Over 25% of farmers don’t take safety precautions



Over a quarter of farmers aren’t taking basic safety precautions, according to a new study.

A report by the ESRI in conjunction with the Health and Safety Authority shows 27 per cent take risks by going ahead with risk jobs on the farm, rather than calling in help from others.

26 per cent of farmers don’t wear standard safety gear like high-vis vests or ear defenders while working.
