Ombudsman’s report shows increasing complaints about health services



There was a total of 116 complaints last year from Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim to the children’s ombudsman office.

67 of the complaints came from Donegal, 34 from Sligo and 15 from Leitrim.

The figures, which relate to services for children, are in the Ombudsman Office annual report which has just been issued.

Nuala Ward, director of investigations with the office, has been telling Ocean FM News what the complaints were generally about.

She says she has noticed an increase in complaints about health services for children, including access to speech and language therapy and psychology services:
