The Fine Gael members of Leitrim County Council have unanimously decided to back Leo Varadkar in his bid to become the new leader of the party.
In a statement, the four Councillors including North Leitrim’s Sean McDermott and Frank Dolan confirmed that they would be backing Varadkar for the position.
After discussing the matter at length yesterday evening, they concluded that his balance of youth and experience make him the ideal candidate.
