Leitrim Councillor concerned that forestry affecting water quality



A Leitrim councillor is questioning whether afforestation is affecting the quality of water in the county.

In a motion to Leitrim County Council this week, Fianna Fail’s Justin Warnock asked the council whether it had carried out any studies on the impact of afforestation on water quality in the county.

Councillor Warnock says due to the lack of intensive farming in Leitrim, he does not believe agriculture has a negative effect on water quality.
