Hospital trolley figures: Quiet in Sligo, busy in Letterkenny



There are a total of 74 patients waiting on trolleys in hospitals in the region today.

In Sligo University Hospital, there are four people on trolleys after yesterday’s figure fell to zero, while there are 39 patients currently waiting for a bed in Letterkenny University Hospital.
Meanwhile, the Emergency Department at Letterkenny University Hospital is extremely busy today and the Full Capacity Protocol has been implemented.

All efforts continue to be made to identify patients who are appropriate for discharge.
Management at the hospital is advising people who are attending the Emergency Department that they can expect delays.

 

They also encourage the public to first contact their GP or GP Out-of-Hours service if it is not an emergency.
In University College Hospital Galway the trolley figure is 31 today.
Nationally, the overall figure is 387, a rise from yesterday’s total of 325.
