TD claims Kenny succession is distracting government from its work



A Sligo/Leitrim TD who’s a member of the Public Accounts Committee says there’s now a ‘crisis’ in the management of the gardai.

Fianna Fail Deputy Marc MacSharry also says he believes the ongoing attention within Fine Gael on who will succeed Enda Kenny as Taoiseach has distracted the government from dealing with the issue.

He says this all happenig when rank and file gardai are working extremely hard to protect people and the State.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Deputy MacSharry spoke of what he described as a ‘bizzare and unprecedented’ situation involving garda witnesses before the Public Accounts Committee.
