Leitrim councillor: ‘Rural areas where a house may never again be built’



A Leitrim councillor is claiming that there are now parts of the rural North West of Ireland in which a house may never again be built.

Independent Councillor Enda Stenson is blaming rules and regulations, and how they are being implemented by authorites here in Ireland.

At a meeting of Leitrim County Council in Dromahair, he proposed that the council invite Houseing Minister Simon Coveney to discuss the whole issue of building a house in County Leitrim.

He says it’s a sobering thought that there are areas in the county in which a new house may never again be erected:
