Progress on road projects in Donegal



A number of new road projects were officially opened in County Donegal today.

They are the Blackburn Bridge realignment between Ballybofey and Donegal Town, which cost €6.3m, as well as works on the N56.

Minister of State Joe McHugh says the the west Donegal N56 works are part of an overall €70m project, which includes cycle lanes along the route.

He has been telling Ocean FM News of the latest developments:


Meanwhile, Fianna Fail Pat ‘the Cope’ Gallagher has called for the immediate go-ahead for the N56 improvement works from Mountcharles to Inver.

He says the N56 is very important for south and west Donegal and is also the main route to Killybegs Port.

He has also called for works on the N56 Inver Bridge to Killybegs road and from Inver Bridge to Five Points.
