Bundoran FF cumann selects McIntyre to succeed her late father on council

Bundoran Fianna Fail cumann has nominated a daughter of the late Councillor Sean McEniff as its nominee to replace him on Donegal County Council.

The Bundoran cumann selected Elizabeth McIntyre at a meeting last night.

A number of other cumann’s in the area have yet to decide on their nominees.

If coopted to the council, Mrs McIntyre would succeed Ireland’s longest serving councillor who was first elected to Donegal County Council in 1967.

Cllr McEniff was returned every time with the exception of 1979 when he stood in the European Parliament election for Connacht–Ulster.

McIntyre, like her late father Sean, is a well-known Bundoran and Donegal businesswoman, as well as a former member of Bundoran Town Council.
