A Leitrim councillor is calling on the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Renewal to speed up a review of a scheme that was meant to help people purchase a home.
Fianna Fail Councillor Mary Bohan was among Leitrim councillors and officials who met the minister, Damian English, when he visted Carrick on Shannon on Friday.
She says conditions in the Tenant Purchase Scheme make it impossible for some people to avail of it.
One of these conditions was that an applicant had to have an income of €15,000 which made it unsuitable for people such as those on pensions.
