Efforts underway to develop new food business activities in vacant premises in Achonry



Efforts are underway to develop new food-business activities in a vacant premises owned by the Aurivo Co-Operative in Achonry, Co Sligo.

Some time ago, Aurivo moved its butter packing operations from the Achonry site to Cork.

Now, Sligo County Council Local Enterprise Office and Aurivo are exploring if the premises could be used as a food hub or as a food production facility.

John Reilly, head of enterprise at the Local Enterporise Office, said such a project would be another asset for Sligo and, over time, could contribute to the development of local food businesses and the region.
