A Book of Condolence will open this morning at 10 o’clock in City Hall in Sligo in memory of the two members of the Harte family who tragically lost their lives as a result of a fire last weekend.
Christopher ‘Sonny’ Harte and his son, Sean, died following the fire in an apartment building on Market Street.
At yesterday’s meeting of Sligo Council Municipal District, councillors extended their sympathy to the Harte family and adjourned for a short period as a mark of respect.
It was also unanimously agreed that a Book of Condolence be opened.
The remains of Christopher and Sean Harte will repose at the family home in St Brigid’s Place in Sligo today from noon until 10pm.
Their funeral Mass will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at 11:30am followed by burial in Sligo Cemetery
