New Basta owners in Tubbercurry want to see more manufacturing




The new owners of the Basta plant in Tubbercurry, in South Sligo, say they want to see more manufacturing in the plant.

Basta, which was established 60 years ago by the Gallagher family, has been bought by businessmen, John Murphy, from Castlerea, Co Roscommon, and Dermot Foster, a Wicklow man now living in Dublin.

It had been owned by former CEO Kevin Norton, who passed away recently.

The factory is not only a long-established employer in the region.

It’s also a leading brand in ironmongery and a household name for the supply of handles, locks and hinges for doors and windows to builders providers and various stores.
