Monday is deadline for Sligo ratepayers to make submissions on revaluations

Ratepayers have until this Monday to make representations to the Valuation Office if they are unhappy with the property valuations they have received.

Proposed new valuations, on which rates will be based for the coming year, were sent out last month and take various factors into account.

These include figures such as for turnover, rent, floor area, production, fees charges and other sources of incomes, as well as costs.

But, as Fianna Fail TD Eamon Scanlon explains, it’s important people make their feelings known by Monday.
