‘Still Waiting’ health campaign group insists its support is growing

The national coordinator of a campaign to seek a better health service says just about 90 people turned out in the North West for protest vigils calling for improvements in the health service at the weekend.

But Cyril Brennan from Donegal is insisting that support is growing for the ‘Still Waiting’ campaign.

He says about 60 people turned out for the vigil at Letterkenny University Hospital and about 30 at Sligo University Hospital.

Other estimates put the numbers at fewer than that.

About 500 people nationwide showed up for vigils at 16 locations.

Mr Brennan says the campaign is trying to create solidarity among all groups fighting for health issues, and he insists it will grow.
