Postmasters feel they’ve been ‘led up the garden path’ on restructuring



Postmasters feel they were ‘led up the garden path’ when it comes to reforming the post office network.

That’s according to the North West spokesperson of the Irish Postmasters Union Paddy McCann who is one of many to attend a protest outside the Taoiseach’s constituency in Castlebar today.

They are calling for Enda Kenny to resign if he fails to secure the future of the network.

Mr. McCann says the new contracts that An Post wants to bring in would make their business unviable and it would lead to the demise of the network.

He says that they worked closely with Bobby Kerry in trying to come up with new ways of structuring the service and now that document appears to be ignored and An Post is taking a new course of action:
