Sligoman elected Chair of chairman of the largest global professional accountancy body



A Sligoman has been elected the new chairman of the largest global professional accountancy body, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

John Gaynor is only the second Sligoman to hold this prestigious position, following in the footsteps of Diarmuid O Donovan, who was ACCA Ireland President four years ago.

John is currently lecturer and programme chair of IT Sligo’s Bachelors of Arts (Honours) in Accounting, a three-year degree programme.

He is a former student of the IT and trained with the Sligo firm Gilroy Gannon Chartered Accountants.

He spoke to Ocean FM reporter Harry Keaney earlier today, outlining what his new position involves:
