Rovers draw with Galway, as Harps overcome Cockhill



Sligo Rovers have stayed ahead of bottom side Galway United after a 1-1 draw in their rescheduled Premier Division game in Terryland last night.

Kieran Sadlier’s fourth goal of the season helped the Bit O’ Red earn their fifth point of the year, after he was set-up by Raffaele Cretaro.

Ronan Murray got the Galway goal after 11 minutes.

Rovers are back in action on Saturday when they host Bohemians at the Showgrounds.
In the EA Sports Cup, Finn Harps advanced to the second round after a 3-1 defeat of Cockhill Celtic in Finn Park last night.

Johnny Bonner scored twice for Ollie Horgan’s side, and Sean Houston got the other goal.

Oisin McColgan scored for Cockhill.
