Search for debris from Rescue 116 extended to Sligo/Donegal Bay area



The search for debris from the Coastguard helicopter 116 is continuing in the Sligo and Donegal bay areas today.

The search for the chopper which came down off the coast of Mayo over two weeks ago has now widened into a much bigger area.

Yesterday the Sligo helicopter 118 and the Bundoran lifeboat were involved in the search which moved north to the greater Donegal bay area.

Today, the coastguard has confirmed to Ocean FM News that the Bundoran and the Sligo Bay lifeboats are continuing the search off the coast here along with the Rescue 115 helicopter today.

Two of the four crew that were on board have been found and laid to rest while the efforts to retrieve the two remaining members Paul Ormsby and winchman Ciaran Smith.
