A Sligo/Leitrim TD says we must create a new society in which horrors such as what happened in the mother and baby homes can never happen again.
During an emotional Dail debate on the mother and baby homes scandal yesterday, Sinn Fein Deputy Martin Kenny told of the experience of a woman in his constituency in the Tuam home.
He said that people say that they did not know about it.
But he added that the truth is that everybody knew about it but they just did not look because they did not want to know.
Deputy Kenny told the Dail how he first met the woman and what she had to tell him.
