Donegal TD Pat ‘the Cope’ Gallagher will represent the Office of Ceann Comhairle and Dail Eireann at the funeral of Mr McGuinness in Derry today.
Deputy Gallagher also says the as a mark of respect to the late Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland, the national flag will fly at half mast on Dail Eireann today.
Deputy Gallagher tells Ocean FM News how her personally knew the late Mr McGuinness, often meeting him at football matches.
Meanwhile, Books of Condolence are open in Sligo City and County Halls.
And as the Cathaoirleach of Leitrim County Council, Cllr Mary Bohan tells Ocean FM, people in Leitrim also have the opportunity to show their sympathy.
