HSE confirms investigations underway into two more farm fatalities



The Health and Safety Authority is investigating the 3rd tragic farm fatality in under a week.

Two more tragedies have been confirmed today and it follows the a death in Arigna, Co Roscommon at the weekend.

A man in his 20s died in a quad accident in Wexford today while another man in his 70s died after being hit by a tractor on a farm in Offaly.

Sinn Fein Sligo Leitrim TD Martin Kenny has called for the government to ensure that the Health and Safety Authority has all the resources it needs to carry out its ongoing and very important farm inspections.

2000 such inspections are planned for this year alone.

The HSA has confirmed all three incidents to Ocean FM News today and that investigations have been launched into each of them.
