Separate searches underway for two missing men in Sligo and Leitrim



The Gardai in Sligo and Leitrim are now seeking the public’s help in finding two men who have gone missing separately in recent weeks.

Gardai in Carrick-on-Shannon are appealing to anyone who saw 31 year old Declan Whyte who was last seen in the town on the 11th of February to get in contact with them.

Mr. White is described as 5’10”, around 13 stone with green eyes. He is described as a ‘skinhead’ with piercings and tattoos on his face.

Meanwhile, the Sligo Mountain Rescue Team, the Civil Defence and local volunteers have been searching the Ben Bulben and greater Grange area in north Sligo in an effort to find 49 year old Kenneth McGowan who has been missing since the 12th of February last.

The searches are not in anyway connected but anyone with further information on either man is asked to contact the Gardai in Sligo, Grange or Carrick-on-Shannon or the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111.
