The Taoiseach will visit the homestead of Sean MacDiarmada in Kiltyclogher in county Leitrim today.
Enda Kenny is expected to meet family members of the late 1916 signatory as well as local politicians.
The invite was extended for him to make this visit during the 2016 centenary celebrations last year but due to a busy schedule the Taoiseach did not make it.
He will then go on to meet the local community and discuss a number of issues including Brexit which is a concern for the village which is located right on the border.
He will also attend a leader partnership expo in the Sligo Park Hotel later this evening at 5pm.
Leitrim Councillor Sean McDermott says the homestead should become a more significant anchor for tourism in the county and he’s hoping this visit will
