An Post taking time to ensure correct decision on postal services

An Post says it’s taking time to ensure a correct decision on the future of postal services in the North West is made.

A spokesperson for the company told Ocean FM News this week that a decision has yet to be made on the post offices in Ballygawley in Sligo and Blacklion in Cavan.

An Post confirmed that both services remain open at the moment while the review continues.

Blacklion postmistress Dymphna Stewart has agreed to postpone her retirement until the end of March, having originally agreed to stay on until February 28th.

But Thomas Walsh of the Save Ballygawley Post Office committee in Sligo has hit out at An Post and says they have been waiting too long.
