McCormack’s MACE reopens in Manorhamilton

The McCormack’s Mace store in Manorhamilton has reopened.

It was one of 15 businesses run by the McCormack family from Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim, that were closed by receivers last year.

The businesses, throughout the region, included shops, garages, care sales rooms, filling stations and an oil depot.

More than 200 people lost their jobs.

The oil distribution business has since began operation again.

The reopening of the Manorhamilton store yesterday afternoon has been welcomed.

It is now operating as normal except that, so far, it hasn’t fuel for sale until it receives the necessary licences.

Ocean Fm News is awaiting a response from MACE on the reopening while McCormack’s are expected to make a statement later.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Manorhamilton Business Forum, Philip Rooney,  says it’s good to see a business reopening in the town.
