Alzheimer’s Ireland information bus to visit Sligo & Leitrim this week

A new bus which will provide information and services about dementia will be in the North West in the coming days.

The Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland’s new Dementia Bus will be in Sligo and Leitrim from today and members of the public are invited along to avail of the facility.

Over 1500 people in Sligo and Leitrim are living with the condition and the ASI say those numbers are expected to treble in a generation.

The bus will be at Sligo University Hospital between 10am and 4pm today before visiting Manorhamilton tomorrow and Wine st car park on Friday.

The ASI’s Dementia advisor for the area Majella O’Donnell says they hope to spread more information about the condition and how to care for it.
